Will Blender replace Maya?

Blender could replace 3dsMax and Maya (mentioned by the OP) sometime in the future unless something drastic at Autodesk happens. Although, you’re right, version 2.8 is very unlikely to be the version that does so. The “Skilled-labour” eventually leaves University or is self-taught.
